Feminist, liberal, and LOUD

It's not your mother's feminism anymore.

Feminism is the radical idea that women are people -A bumper sticker

It's not a fair world.  But it should be.  At least as much as possible.
As much as many of us hate to admit it, women are not equal to men in modern society.  Sure, we won the right to vote, have jobs, own property, wear pants, go to college, play sports, and recieve an education.  But the movement is not over.  Nor will it be until the day when we are equal.
Now, I know the word "feminism" in and of itself is often seen as a sexist term by some.  Equal rights are what I'm after.  I do not believe that one sex is better than another.  I do not believe that one should have more rights or privilages than another.
Feminism is a scary thought to a lot of people.  Even those who consider themselves to be liberal.  It's not, I promise.  We're not a bunch of man-hating lesbians.  I am not going to say that there aren't man hating feminists, but it's not all of us. We're just in it for the equality.
Usually I would go off on a rant but I'd rather fill this space later with Feminist News and things like that.  So stay tuned because I'll be back.  :-)
